How many of us ask our selves the above questions when we are fed up of our jobs and then decide to get another job (typical Maldivian culture). Before doing this why don’t you ask your self what you’re missing or why your not MOTIVATED enough.
Maslows Hirachy of Needs
Maslow's hierarchy of needs is a theory in psychology, proposed by Abraham Maslow in his 1943 paper A Theory of Human Motivation. I know most psychology and human resource students are familiar with this theory and No Im not trying to give a lecture, but I thought this theory applies to every human being and thought I would share what I know about ” motivation”
Maslow suggested that people are in a continuous state of motivation and nature of motivation variable and complex. Satisfaction is temporary and moves onto the next. In other words these needs start from bottom to top in order of priority when one satisfy lower ones and then move onto other ones.

1. Lower most level is physiological needs which are the basic necessity of every human being. To be taken care of before anything else eg: air, water, food, shelter, sleep and sex
2.Safety needs to protect themselves from danger and security needs such as job security
3.Love / social needs- need to be accepted by others especially from formal (office) and informal (friends) groups.
4.Esteem needs-Pride in them selves, sense of achieving something, Appreciation, become noticed, status
5.Self actualization needs- Accomplish everything which person is capable of
So which level are you on? I think I have reached love/social needs yet to reach esteem needs and self actualization needs.
I hope you found out how motivation works :D
